About the Book

This is the third in a trilogy of stories about Kate, Dobber and Charlie the dog at Manchester Airport, involving Wu, a genetically modified dolphin from Wuhan in China, and a group of animal rights activists at a Bio-engineering Conference. Then there is a twist at the end. It has an optional extra chapter “The science behind the story” which asks questions like these: How did life start on planet Earth? Where did DNA come from? Is genetic engineering a good idea? This book can be enjoyed at two levels - as a children’s story or as a thoughtful but light-hearted contribution to the debate around science, atheism and faith. We hope you enjoy them both.

About the Author

Lester lives near Manchester Airport in England. He has a professional background as a surgeon, and his research interests are in cancer prevention and cancer genetics. He has a particular interest in the relationship between science, atheism, and faith and hopes that this book will help Generation Alpha challenge the atheistic assumptions of how schools and colleges often teach science. This book is part of a trilogy of short stories: Aliens Land at Manchester Airport, Robots Land at Manchester Airport and Mutant Bugs Land at Manchester Airport. The ‘optional extra’ science chapters at the end of each book give an introduction to recent discoveries in cosmology, quantum mechanics, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics and even computer science which provide scientific pointers to an intelligent and loving Creator God as the reason behind our universe, our planet, and us! These themes are explored in more depth for Gen Alpha studying science at secondary education high school level in his other book: Science, God and Generation Alpha.
