About the Book

Seventeen-year-old Cameron Eteng is a promising medical student at the University of Lagos when she meets Patrick Douglas, the twin brother of her roommate, Stella. She has never had a boyfriend and doesn’t seem interested in the men on campus, though many of them try to get her attention. But when she runs into Patrick two years later at a birthday party, she is drawn to him and decides to spend the night with him. The one-night stand results in a pregnancy, something that changes her life forever. She throws herself into schoolwork, determined to proceed with her career, and graduates sixth in her class. But her life as a single mother is rife with challenges, and the men who come into her life are prejudiced against her. Eventually she gets a life-changing break and relocates to Canada. But trouble looms on the horizon when her son, now in his twenties, begins dating a girl who turns out to be Patrick’s daughter. This novella tells the story of a woman whose decision of a single night echoes throughout her life and that of her son.
