About the Author

Rev. Dr. Josef A. Howard is an ordained minister of Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Unlimited (HIM-U), previously known as Bethel World Outreach Ministries International. He serves as a missionary and church planter for Harvest Intercontinental Church in Maple Grove. Dr. Howard is the national overseer responsible for theological education, spiritual formation, and credentialing within Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Unlimited. His primary duty is to ensure that the ministers of HIM-U receive the necessary training and preparation to serve God’s people. Additionally, he oversees the licensing and ordination process within HIM-U. Dr. Howard has also served for over five years as the executive director of the Liberian Ministers Association, a religious non-profit organization comprised of Liberian pastors in Minnesota. For the past 21 years, he has been privileged to work as a chaplain in various healthcare centers in Minnesota and as a marriage counselor. He serves on the Child and Family Services leadership team and is the lead chaplain at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in Saint Paul, MN. He is also a staff chaplain at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, and works as a per-diem chaplain for MHealth. Dr. Howard completed a three-year certificate program in biblical studies at the Monrovia Bible Training Center in Liberia, which is affiliated with Living Word Missions in Massachusetts. He also studied Business Administration and Economics at the University of Liberia and holds a BS in French Studies from Université Nationale de Côte d’Ivoire. Additionally, he earned a diploma in Cross-Cultural Ministry from Bethany College in Bloomington, MN, a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care from Bethel Theological Seminary in Minnesota, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Missiology with an emphasis on Leadership Development from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His PhD dissertation focused on “Challenges Foreign-born Church Leaders Face in Establishing Multicultural Churches in the United States.” A teacher, preacher, musician, author, motivational conference speaker, marriage counselor, chaplain, mediator, business executive, and trainer in church leadership, ushering, multiculturalism, church growth, spiritual caregiving, and spiritual warfare, Dr. Howard loves the Lord and has dedicated his life to helping establish God’s plans and purposes in the lives of His people and His church. He believes that nothing is impossible with God; if He (God) has said it, He will surely bring it to pass. This message forms the core of his ministry. Dr. Howard has authored several books, including: “Ushers, God’s Frontline Commanders,” “Turning Your Mess into a Message,” “Soaring as an Eagle Over Life’s Challenges,” and “Where Is My Honor?” He has also written forewords and endorsements for several other books. These books have been quoted and published by other distinguished authors. Dr. Howard has traveled extensively to many countries across the globe to train pastors and church leaders. In the last eight years, he has visited Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo, Benin, Cameroon, Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Ethiopia, South Africa, South Korea, England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Israel, and Brazil. Dr. Howard is married to his lovely, God-fearing wife, Lady Lees Howard, and they have been blessed with four biological children and numerous spiritual children.
