Kara Ann is more than just the writer behind Judy, Joyful—she’s a walking testament to resilience, hope, and the healing power of compassion. Once a child who faced homelessness and hardship, Kara never stopped believing in a brighter future. Through every tough chapter, she carried two dreams in her heart: to work with animals and to bring light to others. Today, she’s doing both.

With over 25 years in animal welfare, Kara has worn many hats—veterinary technician, animal control officer, medical groomer, holistic practitioner—but her mission has always been the same: to care for animals and support the people who love them, especially those in underserved communities. Her work isn’t just a job—it’s a lifelong calling rooted in empathy and service.
