JEMTOWN is the author’s name for Hedley, Texas named for J. E. M. Hedley, railroad influencer. Based on the homespun narratives of early day Hedley residents, as well as the historical records, JEMTOWN will charm you and inspire you in the short-story tradition of Louis L’Amour and Eudora Welty.

About the Author

As a church pastor for over fifty years, STAN COSBY has known some of the most amazing and colorful people you would ever want to meet, a color that is, perhaps, more vivid and pronounced in a small town than a large city. For one thing, with small towns, long-ago history is still living reality. Roots are deep and even when dead, the tree still cuts a stark silhouette against the sky. Some of the characters of these tales are known to the author only by local story and written history. Others are personal friends and members of his congregation.
