About the Book

If you are a fan of horror, this book is for you! It follows the journey of a young seventeen-year-old lad in Wales, named Francis who, while wandering in the forbidden forest paying no heed to his father’s command, encounters an unexpected and fateful meeting with a wolf-like creature that leaves him inflicted with the curse of the werewolf. Following his transformation and the horrors that followed, his family is ostracized and banished from their small village. Fear and shame led them to seek safety in a far away small New England town named Salem, Massachusetts, in America.

As years passed, Francis’ desire to reunite with his family and make amends at unintentionally inflicting his young brother, William, with the wolf’s curse became unbearable. Francis embarks on a voyage to America in search of his family. During his quest for forgiveness, he encounters a cast of murderers, deviants and degenerates capable of committing heinous acts upon the unexpecting, such as the treacherous and vile highwaymen. On the side of all that is pure and good, he befriends empathetic, caring individuals such as Sarah and her cousin Trudy who practice the art of witchcraft, both white and black, and a large, ill-tempered Irish pub owner who employs his own special justice to those who misbehave in his pub.

The plot is fast-paced and riveting. The punishments imposed upon innocent and guilty alike, are barbaric and gruesome. This heart wrenching story of love, deceit, revenge, redemption and loyalty promises to evoke all human emotions from disgust and repulsion to happiness and deep sadness at the plight of the many victims in this story.

I hope you will enjoy the book as much as I had writing it.

About the Author

William “Bill” McCann has always been fascinated with “things that go bump in the night”, since childhood visits to the movies with his older brothers and friends, seeing thrillers like “The Tingler”, “Frankenstein”, “Swamp Thing” and the like, at the Lincoln Theater on Saturday afternoons. These movies instilled a keen interest in horror and the scary thrill of looking under the bed before retiring for the night. Having entered my “Golden Years”, time has allowed me to pursue new interests. After deep reflection, the long dormant passion of the horror genre was decided on for my first book. I invite you to embark on the Werewolf’s horrifying and bloody journey from 19th century Wales, crossing the Atlantic to small-town Ashton, north of Salem, MA. This is the story of the savage nature filled with murder, torture, lust, lies, deceit and betrayal at the hands of persons such as the Werewolf, Highwaymen, drunkards, Gypsies and unscrupulous, murderous lawmen. It will take the determination and skills of two witches and a loving family to save a young lad from the affliction of the wolf. The journey begins…
