About the Book
Dementia diagnoses continue to rise as researchers strive for a cure. The sobering truth is that we all either have been, or can expect to be, personally affected by dementia in our lifetime.
In Illuminating the Alzheimer’s Path, author Donna Brown Benton, through a collection of stories, shares her lived experience of journeying with and caring for her husband, Doug, for sixteen years. Donna’s writing is marked by transparency as she transforms the particulars of their lived experience into universal themes that resonate on a deep emotional level.
Not intended to be a how-to manual, it’s meant to raise awareness of how we view, respond to, companion, and care for loved ones with dementia. The author is hopeful that others facing the path she and her husband traveled will find wisdom, support, and solace in its pages.
