About the Book

Motivation is in essence that internal drive and level of energy that causes an individual to decide to take action usually a positive action that ensures growth, progress and general or direct improvement of conditions or performance. These variables make motivating employees rather challenging. Goals are the stepping stones toward your dreams so in order to achieve them, you need motivation to keep you chugging along towards them. Not everyone is born with motivation. There is a severe lack in some who believe ‘I’ll get to that one day’ or ‘the timing isn’t right’ or a classic case of ‘I can’t do that’. Motivation is the defining factor that turns a good thought into immediate action. It turns a good idea into a business and can positively impact the world around you. Motivation is an important life skill. The reason it’s important is because every person on this earth is unique and has a purpose. To steward your purpose well, you have to be motivated to work towards your goals which helps your dreams become a reality. Not just for your sake, but the sake of others as well.

About the Author

Shukrim Adan is a resilient and visionary author whose life journey is marked by extraordinary courage, compassion, and determination. Born in Mogadishu during a time of civil unrest and political collapse, she grew up amid the absence of peace, structure, and basic human rights. Her early years were shadowed by the threat of violence, displacement, and the deeply painful realities of a failed state including the trauma of female genital mutilation. As a young girl, Shukrim made the brave decision to seek safety in the United Kingdom, arriving alone and without knowledge of the English language. Her transition was far from easy: she faced bullying and isolation, particularly for wearing the hijab. Yet within six months, her fierce commitment to learning transformed her experience. She not only mastered English but earned the admiration of her teachers and peers. Fuelled by a deep thirst for knowledge and justice, Shukrim pursued Public Services the equivalent of A-levels and achieved academic distinction. She went on to study criminal justice and legal studies at university, until the sudden loss of her beloved father brought her journey to a halt. During this time of mourning, she married and welcomed her first child, a beautiful baby girl. Motherhood brought joy, but also a sense of isolation. Having always been active in her community volunteering, working, and studying Shukrim struggled with the quiet of home life. In that silence, she discovered a new calling: writing. She began crafting stories rooted in truth, healing, and empowerment. Though financial constraints have delayed publication, her completed works reflect a voice that deserves to be heard. Never one to be defeated by hardship, Shukrim returned to university while raising five children. Her strength was tested again when she faced the unimaginable loss of one of her children. With the support of her faith, family, and community, she found the courage to grieve, heal, and continue. She changed her academic path to psychology and sociology a choice that aligned with her lived experience and desire to uplift others. She completed her degree while pregnant with her youngest child.
