About the Book
This children’s book will take you through a typical day during my summers in Malesia on my Uncle Ramo’s farm. Aside from the memories, what is most special about this book is that, with the help of my niece, we’ve based the illustrations on actual photos to replicate and share with you my experiences and to preserve the beautiful memories created.

About the Author
I’ve been a registered nurse for about fourteen years and am currently working on getting my degree as a nurse practitioner. This book was inspired by one of my patients, who encouraged me to capture my childhood memories in a book.
I was about four months old when my mom first took me to visit her homeland, and this initial trip paved the way for many summers to come. Summers were full of adventures, and they felt like they went on forever. As I became an adult, I came to appreciate more and more the experiences I had encountered during those summers—experiences and adventures I would have never even dreamed of growing up in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. These ten-hour plane rides took us from trips to the Metropolitan Museum, fire engine sounds, and bike rides on the concrete streets and in Central Park to using outhouses, waking up to the sound of a rooster, swimming all day in a river with strangers, and having our electricity randomly go out. These experiences will forever be a part of who I am; I significantly grew to respect those who took on the role and responsibility of caring for us, some of whom we have lost and hope to meet again.
