"This is my friend, Earl," Shirley introduced them. "This is my friend, Ginger. And this," she lifted Earl's hand to show Ginger the frog, "is Mr. Tree Frog. We're giving him a new home." The trio continued to the tree. Earl put his hand against the tree so the frog could jump onto the bark. The little frog clung to the bark with his flat, sticky feet, moving up a couple of inches at a time before pausing to rest. "I think he will like his new home," Ginger said. "Me, too," nodded Shirley. Then is occurred to her. "Hey, Ginger. I'm getting married, just like Ruby said. "Who are you marrying?" Earl demanded to know. "Kids can't get married. You're only six years old!"

About the Book
This book is based on life in Nettleton, 1951. Shirley is enjoying her summer with family, friends, and Bible School when the Gypsies come to town. After a palm reading by young Ruby, one prediction after another comes true. What is in store for Shirley's future?
About the Author
Micma was raised in Nettleton with her four brothers. She moved away for a few years before returning to her childhood home to raise three kids. Married for 20 years to her husband Paul, she is now a grandma of eight. She wrote and illustrated her first series of books, Cousin Cove, as Christmas and birthday presents for her grandkids. Inspired by conversations from both current and previous residents of Nettleton, Micma wrote her first book in The Kids of Nettleton series, School or Pappy? Leon's Dilemma. Her deep interest in her hometown history continues to grow, as do her plans for the series. Readers can expect more books, spanning the years, about the kids who grew up in the town of Nettleton. Micma, as her grandkids call her, also enjoys reading, crocheting, riding ATV's, watching movies and woodworking. Currently she is working on compiling research for her first non-fiction reference book, The Book of Nettleton.
