Book Introduction
II.
The Legacy, And The Spirit,
Of The Melkizadek
1. The mystery of the Melkizadek (Mĕl-kī-zā-dĕk) can best be understood by coming to the understanding that the Levitical Priesthood was a type and a trainer for the Melkizadek. The first (the physical) covenant also was a type, a trainer, for the second true (spiritual) covenant. The Melkizadek was not a replacement but was the antitype fulfilment of the Levitical type. Thus, we see a glimpse preview of the Melkizadek Priesthood when the firstborn males were originally taken for the Priesthood, then redeemed. The tribe of Levy was taken instead as a type of what would come later through Yahshua’s advent.
2. “Thus, shall you separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine. And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and you shall cleanse them and offer them for an offering. For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; Instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me. And I will take all of the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.” (Num.8:14-18.)
3. Wherefore, the true intention was to take all the firstborn males of every family for the priesthood. But the Levites were taken instead as a forerunner type and trainer priesthood. The true priesthood, the Melkizadek, makes its N.T. debut in Hebrews (7:1-8:6). Verse (9:11) states that the heavenly Tabernacle is the true Temple. Thus, the earthly Temple was an example (i.e., type-trainer) as was also the Levitical Priesthood which attended it. (See, Heb.8:4 & 5.) Wherefore the antitype fulfilment, the true Temple, is the Heavenly Temple and the true Priesthood which attends it, is the Melkizadek, i.e., the male baptized Believers. Of which, Yahshua is the High Priest.
4. Under the first covenant (the physical covenant) he who was firstborn of the flesh, was considered to be the elder and could inherit his position in the priesthood. Yet under the new covenant (which is a spiritual covenant) he who is firstborn of the spirit of God, is considered the elder priest. (See also, ‘Conceived Of God, Born Of God’, in Section Two.) The nature of the Melkizadek is about being a family priest. Thus, it is the spirit of parent and child love that guides the Melkizadek Priest.
5. In (Mat.28:19) Yahshua says, “Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (N.K.J.) When you do a study of the N.T., on the subject of baptizing, you find that the Angel leading the Apostles always led them to baptize only in the name of Yahshua. (See, Acts 2:38 & 4:10-12.) …” for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12b.) Surely, we know, the Angel leading the Church did not disobey Yahshua’s instructions in (Mat.28:19). Thus, it should become evident that He was referring to something other than what most believers think. What most believe is that He was referring to being baptized unto three deities. If this was the case, as many believers believe, the Angel would have led the Apostles to baptize in three names - nowhere in Scripture do we find this! (See also, Joh.3:18.)
6. What Yahshua was actually referring to in (Mat.28:19) was the discipline, or core element, of the Melkizadek Priesthood. That believers are being baptized into this discipline when they were baptized - and that they should be taught to observe Yahshua’s commandments. (At V.20.) The core element of this discipline, is the passing of the mantle of righteousness to the next generation. I.e., the instillment of moral character into the sons of God through nurturing by their fathers. Thus, a Righteous, Godly Character, is passed from father to son, father to son, and so on. It is parent and child love, between the father and the son, that compels the son to carry forward the discipline of righteous character. Wherefore, in this context (Mat.28:19), the ‘Holy Spirit’ (i.e., Holy- Gk. #4151, Pnuma) is the spirit (disposition) of parent and child love. The bonding of parent and child love, between the Father and the Son, is the Holy Spirit in this context.
7. The Holy Spirit is the spirit (disposition) of God. God is love. Did I not say, “I have loved you as the Father loved me?” (Joh.15:9.) “Love one another as I have loved you.” (Joh.15:12.) Surely what I was referring to is parent and child love, which is a higher love than brotherly love. I also said, if you blaspheme the Father or the Son it can be forgiven. But blaspheme of the Holy Spirit (the love between the Father and Son) this shall never be forgiven. Thus, the Father and the Son must always hold the love they have for one another, higher than their own selves. This is so, because if this love fails on a large scale, mankind will cease to exist. Even as you can see the world is in a state of deterioration today, it is because fathers do not raise their sons to be men of God, men of righteous character. Because they also have not been raised to be men of God.
8. To fully understand this, you must come to realize that it is parent and child love that sustains the family; and it is strong families that sustains civilization. It is the breakdown of the family that is causing civilization to degenerate at this time - specifically the departure of the men from being the moral example to their sons, to their families. The families’ design naturally places the man as the head. The most strength has been given to the man. And therefore, everyone in the family naturally looks to the man (the strength) for example - especially for moral example. Perfect parent and child love nurtures in a way that compels children to follow their parents’ example of righteousness. It is the man’s responsibility, his duty, to love his family so dynamically, that they (especially the sons) are compelled to carry on the righteous example given by their fathers.
9. Wherefore, it is into this discipline that believers are baptized, the discipline of the Melkizadek Priesthood. Which obligates a man to take up his position as the moral example of his family and community, also seeing to the well-being of those in need. Giving himself in service even as I gave Myself for the Church. Everyone else who is baptized is obligated to respect the father’s position as the family leader as long as he is performing his duties - also encouraging him that he might stay the course and always be there for his family and community as a moral leader.
10. Paul said it is a “shame for a woman to speak in the Church.” That they should learn from their husbands at home. (1Cor.14:34 & 35.) And it is clearly understood from Scripture that the priesthood is male only. And that I am the Word, not My female counterpart. Does this mean that women are somehow inferior to men? No. By the man having the most strength, this creates a paradox. He is the natural leader, but also, he tends to go astray because of his strength. Therefore, he needs the teaching priest position to help him to maintain his purity. And by giving way ladies, and encouraging him, and learning from him, he is more able to maintain his righteous walk - thereby you both get equal credit for preserving your family and community and for making a difference in the world.
