CLOSER TO CONSCIOUSNESS

Consciousness is the baseline first-order experience of our 3D awareness of self and others in the world. It arises from two brains wired together in a SIR, such that each brain perceives the world and how the other is perceiving the world, at the same time. Even when there are ruptures in meaningful perception – e.g., being traumatically head injured, receiving a lobotomy, experiencing short-term memory issues, or being in advanced stages of dementia, the fundamental phenomena of 3D consciousness sustains awareness of self and others in the world. Various experiences of our meaningful perception of the world may be fragmented or altered, yet the fundamental awareness of self and others in the world, our experience of consciousness, tends to remain largely intact. We cannot experience an illusion without having the consciousness to support it. Even the most extreme experiences of psychosis, hallucination, dementia, or intoxication are premised upon and grounded in the fundamental experience of consciousness that allows us to experience ourselves in the world with others. And whether we experience a meaningless or a meaningful perception of the world, all of our experience is upheld by the enduring and reliable experience of consciousness. In a world fraught with ambiguity the one thing that we can always count on, and the unifying experience underlying all perception of ambiguity, is our experience in consciousness – our 3D awareness of self and others in the world.
