I know it looks at me. The eyes always seem to follow me when I walk across the room. When it's with my daughter, it hides in the stillness of its shell; pretending to be something that it's not. It enjoys co-hosting tea parties and going for rides in the baby stroller. When I kiss my baby girl good night, the eyes light up and stare at me with utter contempt. When we're alone, the brown eyes glaze over to a ghostly white as they fix an icy cold stare upon my face. And through the darkness of the upstairs hallway, the eyes illuminate with a subtle glow as it watches over my sleeping daughter...as if I'm the one wishing to do her harm! What really scares me is that the doll seems to have chosen me to be its adversary. I want to tell my wife about this but I have no idea what to say to her. All I know is that I'm not losing my mind and I'm not going to let a doll ruin my life. I'm just so afraid of the consequences.
