About the Book

This book tells the story of a boy and a tiny kitten who became best buddies. It is also a story of about being different, not fitting the “norm” and being bullied because of it. The boy suffered from extreme anxieties that truly affected his life. He seldom left home, became anti-social and was very lonely. The tiny kitten was left in a shelter by its owner and for months had not been adopted. She was so lonely but still waited for that special someone to adopt her. This is the story of how the boy and tiny kitten met, became instant buddies and helped each other work through their differences. They made much progress because of their love and understanding of each other. Remember, it only takes one kind soul to make a difference!

About the Author

I grew up in a rural community in a corner of the world where Kentucky and Virginia meet. So, I was never sure if I was a Kentucky girl or Virginia girl! Either way, I always loved to write stories! My stories were loosely based on my life as a poor girl, growing up in the “hollers” of Kentucky. I attended a one room school for grades first-eighth, then traveled on the bus across the state line to Virginia for the next four years of high school. Upon graduation, I got married, settled down in Virginia and quickly became the mother of two beautiful daughters. While I was happy being a wife and mother, I felt an emptiness! I needed more! I wanted to keep on learning! An opportunity fell into my lap. Operation Bootstrap (a federal program) brought college classes to my rural community and I decided to enroll in some classes. Immediately, I was hooked on learning! Over the next few years, I earned a master’s degree in education and taught school for the next thirty (30) years before retiring. It is now that I have decided to try my hand at writing a children’s book. I only wished that I had started years ago as I have missed out on many stories, happenings in my daughter’s lives as well as my classroom kids! (Perhaps I can recall a few.)
