This story is really about generosity toward one another. Ms. Alice, an elderly lady who lives alone, finally meets someone she truly cares about. She then gives a gift that is later appreciated by another generation, which in turn means that Ms. Alice is never forgotten.

About the Author

Hello, I’m Bernice M. Speight. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and my upbringing was in Birmingham, Alabama, where I still currently reside. I’m married with two adult sons. I come from a rather large family; I’m the eldest of seven girls. That’s why I feel so comfortable writing this children’s book. This story is about kindness and giving. In a large family, there’s no room for selfishness. It’s always been in my nature to share. I hope that after you read this story, you take a little time and enjoy any gift someone bestows upon you, because after all, all we have is each other. Thank you for your support.
