About the Book

This is a nursery rhyme style children’s book about an iconic woman in history named Sojourner Truth. This book also represents a timeline from her birth to her death date. Each illustration will depict a time in her life when she either overcame her challenges or had to endure them. This children’s book will not disappoint as it is an accurate historical reference to the Truth. Other great books to consider "Betty before X", and "Malcolm Little The boy who grew up to become Malcolm X" written by Ilyasah Shabazz purchase @www.Ilyasahshabazz.com also "Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History" illustrated by: Vashti Harrison available on www.Amazon.com. About the Author

My name is Cory Mcliechey. I was born February 9th of 1973 in Grand Rapids, MI. I am the youngest of nine siblings. I come from a loving two parent home that instilled the values and principles in me that I hold near and dear to this day and that have also helped me become the entrepreneur that I am. I am the owner of ‘Top Notch Painting LLC’ and president of ‘Descendants of the Truth Foundation’; a nonprofit organization whose sole agenda is to educate the youth on their history while teaching them life skills.

I have been a community advocate and activist for many years following in the footsteps of my ancestors. My brother, Ben Mcliechey, and I created a Stop the Violence Movement many years ago. This movement was inspired by the Hip Hop group known as BDP or ‘Boogie Down Productions’ curated by none other than KRS1. The movement has grown into what is now known as the ‘Top Notch Kids Agenda’. Our motto is ‘We don’t kill with guns, we build with guns’. The children are our future and our goal is to help them understand themselves as well as identify a career path and equip them with the necessary skillset to pay the bills!
