About the Author

This author’s voice will capture the interest of readers because it is a voice that conveys the perspective of one who has been seasoned as a tree, planted by the rivers of water and who is now bringing forth her fruit for such a time as this. With the fervent belief that God has purposed her to reveal truth to the next generation by loving Him with all of her mind the author endeavors to do just that. To this end she has attained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a master’s degree in Music Education (M.M.), a master’s degree in Educational Guidance and Counseling (M.Ed.), a Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (D.Ed.), and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Regent University. Her most recent publication in the July 2020 issue of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Education (JIE) reflects her passion for educational equity. She believes that educational equity begins with an understanding of one’s biblical heritage, even from the womb. The author’s careers as a public-school music educator, public school guidance counselor, Minister of Music, Pastor, and Founder/Consultant of The Sound of Judah, a non-profit center for the promotion of cultural awareness, (especially in juveniles who are economically disadvantaged or societally stigmatized) have spanned the past. The author is a wife, mother, and grandmother whose careers have spanned the past 46 years of her life. She continues to be ignited with the fire of the Holy Spirit as she shares from her wealth of wisdom, knowledge, education, and experience gained on this journey called life.
