About the Book
The book “I am Madey Mask” introduces an energetic 6 year old girl, who like many children have noticed things changing all around her. The story is her voice, told from her perspective. She shares with her new friends – the readers - what she is learning and how to understand it through the eyes of a child. Her discovery removes the mystery, fear and anxiety that may be present for children. She uses the opportunity to become a “superhero” for good and gives voice to the thoughts, emotions and imaginations of a young audience. She helps kids everywhere discover how they can be everyday superheroes Madeyson offers a fun and easy way to engage and educate your young ones, through the thought provoking questions and working together on the nifty projects included in the book.
About the Author
The author is a trained medical professional who has had experience working with both adults and children. During the pandemic she observed how children were being “left” out of the conversations that often directly impacted them. She also saw how adults struggled to share just enough, but not too much with children. It was her desire to help children understand the changes around them while giving voice to their feelings, experiences and questions. Through her main character Madeyson she introduces simple science concepts that educate children but also serves as a conversation starter with teachers, parents and their peers. It is the author’s hope that this book will take the young reader on a fun and exciting journey that creates inquiry and stirs their imagination.
