Electricity: “Keep Talkin’”

As the two men approached Ralph, he knew it was time to fight. He lunged toward the first man, but before he could reach him one of the riflemen shot him in the torso and he dropped to the ground. Trey lunged for one of the gunmen, he shot at her but missed and she tackled him. Ralph screamed at Blossom and Ricky and said, “Run!” Two men immediately pursued Ricky and Blossom. While Torey wrestled with the third, Megan ran around the truck, but was met by the group’s boss. He smiled and had nasty teeth, she thought. He slung his weapon and pulled out a huge hunting knife, and said, “we’ll see how you handle this thing now little lady. She turned to run, but he grabbed her by the hair and drug her to the ground. As she turned she saw him raise the blade and knew this was her dream coming true. But, just as he reached the apex of his stroke with his blade, his head exploded. An instant later, she heard the report of a high powered rifle. The man’s body, brains, and blood all came collapsing down upon her. Then a few seconds later she heard the staccato reports of an automatic weapon from across the field. she could see a single man shooting across the field from a kneeling position, then moving forward rapidly crouching. She knew this man was dangerous and struggled to remove herself from under the dead boss. Meanwhile Torey had wrestled her way into putting the scrawny third man into a choke hold. She had her foot upon his weapon. As she was choking him, he stabbed her in the right calf, causing her to release the choke hold. as she grasped her calf and fell back in pain, she heard two gunshots. It was Ralph. Though wounded, he had retrieved a handgun and shot the man as he reached for his weapon. Trey, just nodded and said, “That’s twice I owe you.” Ralph, simply crumpled down and said, “go help Blossom and Ricky.” As Torey turned, she saw the two figures chasing Blossom and Ricky get cut down by tracer fire. She couldn’t see where the rounds had come from, but the whole scene seems confusing. She grabbed the assault rifle from the man that Ralph killed. She could see that Blossom and Ricky kept running. As Megan stood up, covered in brains and blood, she saw the lone figure now walking towards them from about 100 yards away. There was certain familiarity to the walk, but she couldn’t place it. In a strange way, it sort of turned her on. As the man came closer, she thought for a brief moment, “could that be Jack?” But she knew there was no way possible that it could be him. It would be too strange of a coincidence for him to be here in the middle of nowhere in Southern Virginia. What were the odds?
