About the Book

The story is being told by Edgar Robert, a slave who was traded to pay off a family debt at the age of 9. Being a caretaker of the East Wing and its garden and many other chores alone, having little hope because of his abusive and hateful owner Mr. Zlebra and his friends, for entertainment purposes. Enduring a lifetime of his arrogant evils toward his slaves and their families, if they did something wrong, having to watch them be tortured, around that seven-mile "happy track ' taking all the hope and laughter from his heart until Kendrick Zlebra, the son of Mr. Zlebra brought home Ms. Rose, his wife and a speck of hope turned to a trail of life to a broken-hearted soul who thought it was impossible until she gave him a hug and kiss, and filled his dry well with tears of forgotten joy.

Lillie Mae Francis Anna Johnson White, named after my Mother.I was Born July 4, 1968. I am the 18 Child. My parents are the late Robert and Lillie Mae Johnson, Woodhaven Louisiana (backwoods). Married Twice my current husband Robert White of Ponchatoula Louisiana. I have 8 children (one miscarriage). My children are; April Johnson Jackson, Joel Johnson, Abraham Lackey Jr., Lillie Mae Lackey Cook- who also has my Mother’s name. Stacey Lackey Johnson, Samuel Lackey, Seanna Lackey and Donna Lackey…the twins. I have 12 grandchildren (2 deceased). 3 on the way Father’s will… My granddaughters are Chloe Johnson, Caitlyn Johnson, O’rinna Logan, and A’miree Lackey. My Grandsons are Jeremiah Cook, Melvin Cook, Johnny Logan Jr., Joh’sean Logan, Gabriel Logan, Kyle Lackey, Orlando Lackey, and Judah Jackson.
