Will the clever scientists and doctors from every country, every city and every state, find a vaccination for every person from every nation? Will they be quick and stop the people getting sick and find a way for Eyeless the Corona Virus to ‘see’ the trouble it was making leaving us all quaking? What will they ask us to do to help make it shoo?

About the Author

I am a 52 year old mother of six and grandmother of five, I have worked with the under 5’s for over 30 years and I am currently the operational manager of an Outstanding Early Years Provision. From the start of the current crisis it became very apparent to me the sudden changes to young children’s lives could have an immediate and lasting effect of their emotional wellbeing. Since the start of the pandemic many parents reported to me, their children were have trouble understanding all the sudden changes and consequently their parents were having problems explaining this new way of life to their children. I was determined to find a way to conceptualize the Corona Virus into a character that children could relate too. “Eyeless the Corona Virus” has a warm and witty repetitive text that follows the classic Rhythm and Rhyme style. It teaches children how to stay safe by protecting themselves and others from Corona Virus, by helping children make links to this new way of life and gain a better understanding of the current world around them.
