Page 1 Mrs. Williams stood by the door to greet each of her students as they walked into the classroom. Page 2 When the bell rang, she walked inside the classroom and smiled. "Happy Thinking Thursday class! In honor of Thinking Thursday, let's pull out our journals and draw a picture of anything that you haven seen that you think is beautiful. Page 3 Your portrait, which is another name for your drawing could be a person, place, or a thing; just be creative. After drawing your portrait, write a caption under it. A caption expalins the picture. Also, share why you think what your drew is beautiful. Page 4 The supplies you may use ar the art center for this workshop are markers, color pencils, or crayons. Please be considerate of others, and only grab three or four colors at a time and return them when you are finished. Share if you are not using the colors at the time someone may need to borrow. The number one favorite color for girls is pink, and for boys, it is blue. What if we focused on brown, the color of so many minorities? What if we re-presented their shades of brown in a better light? Brown is a beautiful color that holds great significance. Charity Williams in a Native of Lawton Oklahoma. She is the wife to Ronald Williams and the mother of two teenage daughters. As a reading specialist, Charity is drawn to providing multicultural literature within the classroom setting. She is an educator who loves to use holistic teaching strategies to increase self-efficacy within persons in which she comes in contact.
