About the Book

This lighthearted story is about an Octopus named Hector who was happy and carefree. Until one day an event turned his life upside-down. The messages in this story are about assumptions, confidence or lack thereof, friendship, kindness, and realizing it’s not what you look like on the outside that counts, it’s what’s inside.

About the Author

The author of this book came up with this story when he has in 5th grade when the class was required to come up with an idea for a book that would be entered in a Young Authors contest. The teacher helped the participants sew the pages together and create a case using cloth thus creating a handmade book. He was awarded 1st place in the children's book category but if you think about it they were all children's books seeing that all the authors were in 5th grade. As fate would have it, and purely by chance, he has worked in book manufacturing sales for the past 40 years. His intent was to have this book published for his children but his life went by so quickly it is finally being published for his grandchildren and others. He hopes you like the story and message it sends. He is currently creating more stories that will allow the reader to enjoy more adventures of Hector and his friends.
