About the Book

Michael, who many students, parents, teachers, etc. may be able to relate to, had a less than ideal time while in elementary school. Year after year, Michael absolutely dreaded going to school until finally he was able to experience, firsthand, the impact a great teacher can have on the life, in this case his, of a child. First and foremost, Dr. Treisch is hopeful students, teachers, parents, etc. will find this book enjoyable to read. Dr. Treisch is also hopeful this book will help its audience further develop an understanding that not every student learns the same way and at the same rate. Finally, Dr. Treisch wrote this book with the goal of helping people gain a stronger appreciation for the power of patience, kindness, and humor.

About the Author

As a child, and even young adult, Dr. Justin Treisch did not enjoy school all that much. He pretty much had one outlet, sports. Dr. Treisch spent the first four years of his life, after high school, in the United States Marine Corps. At eighteen years old, Dr. Treisch was unsure what he wanted to do with his life, but knew he needed to be productive and wanted to be challenged. When he got out of the Marine Corps, he began his journey toward becoming an educator. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in 2007. He earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education, with a focus in school improvement, in 2009. Dr. Treisch also earned a Doctorate Degree in Special Education from Nova Southeastern University in August 2014. Dr. Treisch has also completed a plethora of graduate level courses in a wide range of educational and instructional leadership topics. Dr. Treisch currently works for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) and is blessed to have the opportunity to serve as an educator and administrator in numerous locations around the world. He considers himself to be a lifelong learner who believes the power of positivity, perseverance, and laughter is often underrated. Dr. Treisch has a vision that his book could possibly help teachers, as well as all individuals who read this book, gain a better understanding of what some students experience on a daily basis in school.
