About the Author

The author, Timothy C Kearns, has a BS degree in Statistics and Mathematics from Virginia Tech, 1983. After college, he worked at the U.S. Census Bureau as a computer programmer and has more than 15 years of tutoring experience at the college level in mathematics and statistics. I have gained extensive knowledge and experience with applied and theoretical mathematics. My informal education extends into the history of math and science, a lot of reading about classical and modern physics, chemistry, biology and evolution theory, human origins, astronomy and cosmology, and some aspects of philosophy. Tutoring mathematics, statistics, and other subjects for many years has made it possible for me to write this rigorous and rather comprehensive overview of the subjects of mathematics and statistics, which I'm sure would benefit and be enjoyable reading for students and teachers alike.
