When I got on the school bus, I slipped off my shoes. Pretty Patty, who wears a beautiful pink dress and bow, grabs my shoes and sniffs them.She says with a frown, "Your shoes stink. It smells like cottage cheese." I felt so ashamed. The monster is ruining my day. When I got to school, my friends and I ran down the hallway. Ms. Salad, my teacher, who looks tall and skinny like a pencil, stands at her door. Ms. Salad stares at my aching toes."Curtis, Why aren't you wearing your shoes?" I said with hesitation, "I don't want to wear them because there's a stinky greedy monster hiding inside my shoes."

About the Book
Motivated by her autistic son, Curtis, who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of four, inspired her to create this entertaining story that young readers will enjoy. Hudson believes that autistic children do have imaginations but are unable to show or talk about them. "A child with Autism has unique ways of learning and exploring the world. They have imaginations, fears, and creativity that many may not understand." The story follows the life of a young autistic boy who prefers to walk barefoot because he fears a stinky monster hides inside his shoes.
About the Author
Melissa Diane Hudson is an International Women of Faith awards winning author. She was featured in an issue of an International women magazine and appeared on two national television shows. Hudson is also a Georgia Book awards nominee for her relationship book, "The Female Fool: 10 Reasons Why You Aren't Attracting a Good Christian Man." She has spoken on various radio talk shows across the country. Hudson obtained an MFA in English and creative writing, a Master of Arts degree in education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She is a widow, has one son, and is an educator in the school system.
