About the Book

This sweet story is told from the point of view of a young adult cat who was rescued from a local shelter. She recalls life in the shelter, her need to see the outdoors, and her strong desire to be loved by an adopted human family. She finally gets adopted, settles into her forever home, gives birth to kittens, and grows to love a human child who becomes part of her family. The mixed media illustrations fit the mood of the cat during the telling of the story. It is a timeless story that appeals to pet lovers of all ages, especially the ones who favor cats!

About the Author

Mary Reynolds is enjoying retirement living after over thirty years in classrooms in Alabama public schools. Her favorite memories from her years in teaching lie within her classes devoted to developing writing skills in young people. “It is so satisfying to see a young writer start with an idea that grows into a polished product. Writing workshops and conferences with young writers gave me such pleasure and created many happy memories. One particularly satisfying moment was when my eighth graders swept first place in all categories of the Alabama Penman Contest in 2008, my last year of teaching.” She and her husband, Kenneth, currently split time between Leesburg, Florida, and Trinity, Alabama. She enjoys painting in oils and other mediums, writing, and visiting with family including her grandson, Nicholas.
