About the Book
Dr. Gangaram Singh, encouraged by Mr. Rajinder Singh Ghai, captures Mr. Bishan Singh Bedi's powerful style and unwavering integrity in this unique account of cricket and philosophy. In the foreword, Mr. Tiger Pataudi underscores the book as a tribute to Bedi’s grit and deep moral conviction.
From Bedi’s firsthand narratives, Singh recounts pivotal moments in cricket history, including the Vaseline Affair and the Indian team’s encounters with the West Indian pace attack. Bedi’s honest, rhythmic storytelling, much like his bowling, resonates throughout, revealing the values that shaped his remarkable journey. His commitment to honesty and spirituality defined his success and guided him through triumphs and trials.
Emotional accounts from Ms. Anju Bedi, Mr. Angad Bedi, and Ms. Neha Bedi-Malhotra add depth to his legacy. This book is Bedi’s enduring call to action: defend cricket’s integrity and preserve its true spirit.
