About the Book

Spider of Calico Mountain Marigold had a severe trauma that erased her whole life from her memory. She had been in the hospital therapy unit for a year, yet she could not recall her life. The only thing she could remember was waking up in the hospital. The story is the struggle she faced trying to remember. The doctors, nurses, and her parents were exhausted from feeding her information to bring back her memory. All resources the hospital had to offer had been exhausted. The doctor suggested one other thing that could be tried—that she return to where the trauma took place. She was sent back to where the trauma took her memory. Her struggles to remember were slowly overcome. Until the Tulips Bloom The sudden death of Catherine’s father left her alone and bewildered until her sister Cynthia suggested she take a year off, make it her time, return to her writing and illustrating, travel to Holland as she had planned when she finished college, and also learn about their ancestry. Catherine went to Holland and fell deeply in love with the country and a Dutchman named Felix Zee. She saw Holland through Felix’s eyes as he gave her many tours. But then a violent storm came and took his life. She was unsure if she wanted to stay in Holland or go back home. By the Window Madrigal is a child with Down syndrome, and the story is told by her. She tells the story of how she met her friends and the learning process with which they taught her the many things she learned. Most of all, she learned to love.

About the Author

I grew up in the hills of West Virginia as a coal miner’s daughter. My writing started when I accepted a challenge from my mother to write better stories than she had been reading to the grandchildren. My first story was ‘Georgie Tadpole’. Since then I have written several children stories, ‘The Librarian’s Puppet Plays, a novel ‘Take the Wings of Morning’ and News letters. I have one son, daughter in law, two grandsons, step grandson and a great granddaughter.
