About the Book

Jeeba the Amoeba is an inspirational book in poetic form. It is a story about appreciation.

All the way down at the ocean’s floor, lives an Amoeba; a creature 100 times smaller than a single grain of sand.

What can we learn from an Amoeba?

Perhaps the smallest Amoeba can teach a child the single biggest, and most valuable of all life’s lessons, especially when our world needs it most; how to love, respect, appreciate and see God in each other.

When pigtails comb out into straight

and the stuffed bear’s stored away

When the marbles and the coloring books

have finally seen their day

When the wheels of rusty roller skates

can no longer turn

and the embers of the early days

have long ceased to burn

When the weary plastic soldiers have

returned home from their wars

and the big three-story doll house

has finally closed its doors

These simple pages keep on giving

’til your final day

Oh, you’ll put them down

for a spell and

you might walk away

And although perhaps you won’t return

to this very book per se

there are Jeebas in many forms

you’ll find along the way

If the message here is less than clear

Can’t find its way to your head

And you can no longer lift this book

You probably are dead

About the Author

For 70 years I have been humbled by the smallest of things. The greatest acts of service from the least known heroes. From the walls in my classroom as a grade school teacher, to the walls of a Catholic Seminary, to the concert halls in my professional music career, to the walls of large meeting rooms where I served as a speech writer for executives of global companies, to the walls of the many companies that I have had the privilege to own, to lead and to be led by my employees.

Today, I confidently cling to the hope that the upcoming generation will create and shape a workplace spanning five decades of diversity, that is commingled with respect, appreciation, selflessness, compassion, kindness, gentleness, and humility. From the greatest to the smallest, we are bonded together by the collective consciousness of one soul.
