About the Book

Joey and Parker: A Tail of Two Cats is a picture book with text that links very well with the pictures. It is a true story dictated by two cats, Joey and Parker, who live with the author (sorry, guys, I am taking some credit here too). The author has a chronic illness which is no laughing matter. And yet some funny things have happened along the way, and the cats want to have their say. It is said that laughter is the best medicine. This book was written in good taste. However, it is not all fun and games. As a serious advocate for a cure for Parkinson’s disease, I felt compelled to add a chapter of my own and briefly but hopefully and effectively get on my soapbox for increased medical research funding for all diseases. Overall, this is a fun picture book intended to provide you with some lighthearted moments. Enjoy.

About the Author

Patricia Lightner spent the last 15 years advocating for better treatments and ultimately a cure for Parkinson's disease. She informed her elected officials in her hometown and in Washington, D.C. of the needs of the Parkinson's community. She also supports increases in medical research funds. Patricia is the author of two other books, also available in paperback, PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND ME:WALKING THE PATH 2nd edition and JUST GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT:EVERYDAY REFLECTIONS.
