About the Book
What is in this book is a sustained reflection on significant moments in my life. Some of the experiences are relatively recent. I can recall them as if they happened just yesterday. In fact, some of them actually did happen yesterday (give or take a year or two). Others are from much further back in time but no further from my mind and heart. I hope this memoir ends up being long enough to include the events, and especially the people, who have meant the most to me during my long and welllived life. At the same time, I hope this memoir is short and interesting enough to keep you reading and, perhaps, recalling along with me. Most of all, I offer this memoir as my sincere effort to remind many of you of the pleasures and joy that you brought me. I also want to assure the rest of you that I have not forgotten life’s unpleasantness or the responsible parties. I learned many lessons from even those experiences. I have treasured the joys and pleasures, and as I continue to seek more of those, I won’t forget them. Perhaps I could have forgotten the unpleasantness if I had tried hard enough. I am not entirely sure that I want to though. Perhaps others may learn from my failures and pain but more so, I hope, from my successes and joys.
