DELUSION OF THE MIND

They both got out of the car, walked up the steps and Mary knocked on the door. They noticed that there are cats on the porch and Mary yelled out “What’s that smell?” she glanced over at the cats and saw their tongue half way out of their mouth. Rosa said I’m going to the back to see what I can find. She walked around the back and started covering her nose as she approached the back door. She saw lot of cats on the porch and these cats had dried up blood covering their bodies, tongue hanging out of their mouths, eyes were covered in mucus; smelling horrible. Rosa knocked and knocked but she gave up because the smell was too bad for her to handle so she walked back to the front of the house. Mary said “How bad is the back?” and Rosa said “You already know. I thought at a moment I was about to vomit”. Mary walked over to the window and took a peep inside, there’s no one here I don’t see any furniture but there a fire in the fire place that mean someone does resides here, next thing happen the door open and Mary scream out it’s about time someone open the door, they both walk inside slowly but no one was around, Mary yelled out okay the door didn’t open by itself someone in here, they walk around the house they made their way into the kitchen and Rosa said look at this horrible kitchen. Mary screamed what’s that horrible smell she walked towards the refrigerator and she opened it she screamed jump back and Rosa ask her what’s wrong she pointed at the refrigerator. Rosa walked to the refrigerator and she peep in and said that’s a damn shame a dead cat inside not one but two she quickly shut the door. Mary vomited all over the kitchen floor. She yelled out “This is crazy” she grabbed the mop to wipe her mess up but there wasn’t any water. Rosa walk towards the hallways she went upstairs, she walks around to all the room she heard someone running and the next thing she know Mary ran into her and she laugh and said “Okay Mary, I never thought you will be the scary type”, she said “Nah, I just didn’t want to be downstairs by myself I didn’t know if some cats would come in and say get out”. They both laughed. Rosa said “Well, it doesn’t look like anyone has been in these rooms in a while”; suddenly there was a noise that made a loud sound. Mary said “What’s that?” and Rosa said “I don’t know, but it’s coming from down stairs”. She ran down stairs and Mary screamed “Wait for me” as she ran down the steps, they headed towards the back door. All of a sudden the door to the basement was open and Mary said “Wait a minute, that door was closed when we were down here”. Mary grabbed the hammer that was on the counter as they walked down the steps of the basement. The stairwell started squeaking, as they took another step they both stop on the stairwell, Rosa scream out “Who’s down here?” and Mary screamed out “I got a bat and I know how to use it”. They continued down the step, got down to the ground level and looked around. Mary whisper Rosa’s name “Look” she pointed to the corner. Rosa walked over to see what she is pointing at. It was a huge trap; it looks like a bear trap. Mary looking at the trap said why in the world someone would have this in there basement, they both paying attention to the trap, someone touch Mary on her leg she jump back swinging the bat yelling out come on, get you some, she kept swinging the back Rosa yelled out Mary put the bat away it’s a little boy Mary looked down and she seen it was a dirty looking boy staring at her she put the bat down she look at Rosa she then said what in the world is going on in this house, Rosa ask the little boy where his parents but he didn’t say anything he look down towards the ground, Mary walk up to the little boy and said are you the one who open the front door for us, but he still didn’t respond, Mary told Rosa this little boy stinks, her body shook as she told Rosa that she seen something crawling in his hair, she shook her head, Rosa ask the little boy did he want her to take him to get something to eat but he still didn’t respond, she asked him was he the only one in here, he didn’t say a word, Mary slowly back up and she bumped into something she scream hold the bat up in the air to take a swing and Rosa jump in front of the little girl and she said Mary it’s a little girl, you were about to swing at, Mary told Rosa come on now you seen movies with demon possess children, and looks to me were in a horror scene right now, Mary yell out look at her eyes they turn red and Rosa look and she jump back from the little girl, Rosa raise that bat in the air and said I got this, the little soft squeaky voice coming from behind her saying please don’t kill my sister they both turn around and Mary scream out all hell nah another one of them, Rosa walk towards Mary and they got closer together another child came walking toward them, Mary yelled out what in the world Rosa I’m about to bust me some kids heads down here, then another child came out until Rosa and Mary was in the center and they were all around them, Mary scream out Rosa reach in my sock I got a blade you can use, Rosa reached into Mary sock and she pulled out the blade. Rosa look at her and Mary said I’ll explain later but we got to get the hell out of here first, Mary scream out listen I’m warning you all right now if you think you all going to take a bite of me I beg the difference I’ll spread you all bodies right here, Rosa said Mary that’s rude to say and Mary said, look at the little girl you see what she got in her hand a sharp pole, look at the others look what they got in there hands now tell me am I wrong to say that, she shook her head. Mary and Rosa stood there for a few minutes until a guy came to the window and knocked then the kids ran to the window. Mary said “This is the time to break out of here” and Rosa said “Wait a minute! Someone knowingly saw these kids down here and dropped off one long sandwich and a gallon of water. The oldest girl went to the window, the rest stood there shaking. She grabbed the sandwich and the gallon of water, went into the room and the rest followed her and the last one shut the door. Rosa and Mary ran up the stairs but the door was locked. They banged on the door until they gave up then they walked back down stairs. Rosa told Mary try to find a long sharp item, “I can pry the window open and we can escape through that window”.
