About the Book

The story follows Jaden, a kind young boy who is new to school and who quickly encounters the toughest, meanest kid there. The new kid ultimately befriends him, tapping into the kindness he has cultivated through his moral and religious beliefs. By learning to befriend their enemies and turning to their faith in God to overcome a confrontation, children can discover that the person they are preparing to fight may turn out to be a very good person and even a great friend. With a simple, strong message about opting for peace in the face of violence, Love Thy Neighbor and Thy Bully is certain to inspire any child to develop new skills to transform a potential threatening situation into a positive experience.

About the Author

Korey R. Outerbridge drew from his firsthand experience with bullying while he was writing Love Thy Neighbor and Thy Bully. Having witnessed bullying in the environment he grew up in, he has gone on to confront bullying in the mentorship programs he has been involved in. The increasingly present problem of bullying in today’s society also inspired him to write his children’s book. Korey was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, and graduated from Virginia State University. He is currently a soldier in the US Army. His hobbies are writing, traveling, and scuba diving.
