That day finally arrived. Susan came downstairs for breakfast dressed for school wearing her tiara. Her mom took one look at her and said, “Susan! You are not a princess. Take off that tiara”. Tears in her eyes, she took off the tiara and while her mom took things to the car, she secretly stuffed the tiara in her book bag. Susan went to the neighbor’s house to wait for the bus. Her mom pulled away and she reached in her book bag and put the tiara on, hiding it under her hair, and sat on the porch waiting for the bus. The bus arrived and as Susan expected the boys were waiting, but she was ready, plan in mind. The boys started yelling nasty things at her and saying she couldn’t ride the bus. Her heart was pounding, but she held her head high, and as the sun shone brightly, you could see just a hint of the sparkles from that beautiful tiara.

About the Book

About the Author
Linda Forrest Frazier was born in a small Northeastern Ohio town. Shortly after obtaining certification as a dental assistant, she married her high school sweetheart. They left town the night they were married so that her husband could get back to Wright Patterson Air Force Base by the next morning. They moved many times over the next eighteen years, living in many places, including New York and Utah, and during that time had two daughters. They settled in Troy, Ohio and the author still lives in the family homestead there. Over the nearly fifty years of marriage they traveled extensively and during those years started an aviation business which their daughters still own today.
