At 8:24am at Metro Health hospital Keeta and her boyfriend Special gave birth to an ambitious little girl name Monique La’Lerae Davis. The looks on their faces were priceless as Dr.Shawn handed her over to her parents. It was January 24,1992 and living in Cleveland, the weather was cold as usual on its cloudy snowing days and since all the holidays just past including New Year’s it felt like a new beginning bringing the year in with a new baby unaware of the future problems both parents will have to face dealing with lil Monique. At first everything seem fine after the first four months past and since Monique’s grandmother just had her last son Cash everything seem fine and things were looking bright yet something was off with lil Monique and no one recognized it but Keeta knew something wasn’t right with her baby. On one normal work day for Keeta after she put both kids down she realized after her boyfriend informed her that Monique wasn’t breathing Keeta luckily knew CPR and performed it on lil Monique while Special called EMS in the meantime Keeta did CPR on her daughter till Monique started breathing again on her own and she was still rushed to the hospital and stayed overnight for test and observations yet after getting results back nothing showed up that was abnormal but Keeta thought otherwise. Still Monique was released from Metro and sent back home but it didn’t take long for Monique to come back to the hospital after being pronounced dead in the EMS but thanks to her grandmother A.W praying to GOD telling him it's not her time five minutes after Monique was pronounced dead did her heart start beating again and because of GOD she was now alive yet again. It didn’t take Monique long to go through another tragic as one random night during nap time did Monique have her 1st seizure as her eyes rolled through the back of her head same time both parents were waiting on EMS to transport her to Metro. After the paramedics gave her a shot to stop the seizure they found out lil Monique is allergic to the medicine causing her to have a toxic rash. After more test being done on Monique everything came back find but as the next four months past and more seizures and sudden non breathing episodes did Keeta notice Monique head getting bigger then a normal baby and after MRI’s and Cat-Scan everything seem normal but Keeta wasn’t buying it and just as she thought after getting a 2nd opinion she was informed that her eight month old baby girl had a brain tumor and was most likely to die.

When it comes to an individual some can be define as a statistics while others are made to stand out backing up the definition of unique. statistics says I should have died, statistics says i was supposed to suffer from down syndrome. Statistics says i wouldn’t be able to walk or talk, statistics told my mom to prepare to bury a child but our GOD said otherwise. Every statistics that was thrown at me never prospered instead, the exact opposite happened and what the doctors didn’t expect to happen had fortunately actually happened. However i struggled with a disability but not how others assumed I’d struggle for it was more of a mental struggle then a physical struggle. although I’m labeled as a disabled person my appearance may, will, shall fool you and throughout this book (and more to come) it will tell you why you should never judge a book by its cover regardless of who or what a person may appear to be for looks can, will be deceiving.
