About the Book

“Pieces of Me” was written as a semiautobiography of my life in hopes that my readers would connect and feel pieces of themselves in words. It has been a source of joy through poetry, being healed through tragedy, seeing light at the end of the tunnel through dark times and inspiration. It’s meant to help heal and help you reach higher. There’s room for laughter, joy, tears, and triumph.

About the Author

LaDeene is a published author of a few poems with the Poet’s Society and www.poets.com. She has been writing poetry since a young adult. She has received an Editor’s Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry by Poetry.com and International Library of Poetry, a Certificate of Accomplishment for achieving the level of skilled poet and the level of skilled reviewer both by Poet’s Workshop (www.Poets.com). She has tried to bare her soul and share pieces of her life that may also be shared by all her readers. She has experienced many ups as well as downs that she has expressed through her poetry. She expresses some very personal emotions and digs deep to come out of the pages to make her readers feel what they may be experiencing or may have experienced in their lives. She is a divorced mother of two adult children and has two grandchildren—her son and his wife and their daughter as well as her daughter and her daughter. They all are the joys of her life. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and has lived in Houston, Texas, since she was a young child. She is the oldest of four from her parents and has an older brother from a previous relationship of her father’s. She is a retired LVN. She returned to college later and earned her associate of arts in business administration.
