About the Author

Ronald left school at the age of fifteen and began work as an apprentice mechanic but, due to staff cutting three years later, was made redundant, and so he joined British Rail as a trainee fireman on steam locomotives, but that was not destined to last either. Due to Dr. Beeching’s cuts to rail services and lines, once more Ronald was made redundant because of the introduction of diesel locomotives. Steam engines were being phased out and as there were already enough drivers being trained once more, Ronald was out of work. He took on a job as a plastic molder at a firm in Streetly and stayed there until he was twenty-one. He then joined the Royal Air Force and, after trade training, was passed out as a full-fledged RAF policeman in 1961. June 1964, he was invalided out of the RAF with duodenal ulcers, causing him to be hospitalized for two months then was demobbed and returned home and to Civvy Street. He began work as truck driver and carried on until 1982 when he gave up trucking to spend more time at home and started work at a firm producing construction equipment loading and unloading containers for and from destinations all over the world. In 1994 the open road once again lured him back onto the tarmac driving 44 tonners on agency work and carried out those duties until in 2001 just before Christmas he was hit with a series of strokes that finished his HGV driving career and although they were not the full blown strokes he was disabled down the left side of his body and face. It took him 18months to beat the strokes and get his car driving license back again; even now he has to walk with the aid of a stick. But now as well as the stroke damage arthritis is taking its toll on Ronald .More and more finds each day difficult to get moving around, but he will not let that beat him and even though he is now suspected of suffering from Osteoporosis he puts his spare time to good use writing his novels, at this present time he is half-way through his fourth novel of a series named Deadly Diversions and hopes to eventually complete a series of at least fifteen novels in that particular series. he has also had paintings both oil and acrylic displayed in Walsall and one painting A Gift From The Gods was displayed in the 2005 Inspired By Exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum Art Gallery in South Kensington, London for two months. He was at the time a member of an art class at a Walsall College named Brush Strokes and the teacher, Jane Ward arranged for the class to go down to the museum and see the exhibition where Ronald received his certificate. It was a thrilling experience and he intends to start painting again soon. His two books Deadly Diversions book1 and book2 The Paranormal Detective are at the time of writing almost ready for publication by Author House UK and should be on sale shortly. Ronald also has another novel in the series complete and is halfway through a fourth which he hopes to have ready together with the third novel sometime next year. Ronald is like many authors self-publishing with Authorhouse UK.
