The adventures of a bicyclist in his sixties and how he was able to ride a bicycle across the United States. Overcoming many obstacles—physical, mental, geographical, to name a few—the book illustrates how one person overcame these obstacles. About the Author

I was a history teacher and history department chair for thirty-five years. I began biking in 1996, following a knee surgery. Since beginning my biking experience in June of 1996, I have ridden one hundred thousand miles. Following retirement in 2009, I decided to ride across America on a bicycle. From teaching history to visiting those places in person, the ride turned into quite an adventure. From meeting all the great people along the way to the beautiful scenery that can only be experienced from a bike and visiting historical sites, the ride was an experience of a lifetime.
