About the Book

Gulp is a small, lonely little fish that is left without a mother or a father. He quickly learns that the more he eats, the bigger he gets. The bigger he gets, the scarier he is. When you are big and scary, it is more difficult for other fish to hurt you. Unfortunately, Gulp has never learned how to make friends. He is often bullied and picked on for being different from all of the other fish. Without any friends or family to teach him how to appropriately manage his emotions, Gulp often acts out of anger and becomes a bully himself. Will Gulp ever learn how to share, care, and be kind?

About the Author

John D. Cornman is an English teacher from South Western Pennsylvania. He works extensively with troubled youth. He also is a proud father and husband with four beautiful children who love to look at his doodles, listen to his stories, and go fishing with him. John’s deep love of reading, writing, fishing, and doodling, combined with his love for his family drive him to create stories that are designed to help children control their emotions and learn about love, respect, and friendship. He often tells his students and his own children that life would be so much better for everybody if we could all just learn how to share, care, and be kind to one another.
