Long, long ago in a far away jungle, there was a greedy Cheetah who ruled the jungle. Cheetah would get very mad if someone did not do exactly what he said or follow his rules of the jungle. There were three rules of the jungle. The rules were to never come to his palace without permission, never eat any of his fresh food and to never ever mess with his throne chair. As long as every animal in the jungle followed these rules, then they were provided with water. Since Cheetah was so greedy, he gave the jungle animals only the dirty water from the ponds when it rained and kept all the fresh water to himself. One afternoon, all of the animals of the jungle were called to a meeting because Cheetah was trying to figure out who took all his fresh vegetables the night before....

About the Book
This book includes child-written short stories. This first edition features fictional stories by third and fourth graders. Varying in style, complexity, tone and theme, each of these stories shed light on children’s concerns, dreams and fears. They also illustrate their resilience, mastery and creativity. About the Author
Leah L. Mabery is an attorney born in Miami, FL. Leah discovered the joys and benefits of reading as an English major at Clark-Atlanta University. As a Chicago attorney, she became committed to social justice and community redevelopment. She believes communities can be transformed through literacy. Therefore, she made it her mission to increase the literacy rate within African-American communities. To this end, she has started book clubs and writing programs for children and other initiatives to increase literacy awareness and inspire a love of reading.
