The mantras have deciphered many complicated scientific ideas in an accessible way. If engineers of the future are to play a useful role in delivering sustainable development, then the young engineers of today need to be equipped with the knowledge and understanding that will enable them to practice in a way that meets the new requirement of their profession. This book has been written primarily toward equipping the future generation of engineers with the skills that will be necessary for them to embrace their new responsibilities.


About the Author

Born in Guyana (formerly British Guiana), professionally educated and trained in the United Kingdom (UK), obtaining both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering and now living with his wife Barbara in Toronto, Canada—Ashton Jairam is a chartered electrical engineer (C.Eng.) and an administrator with an international background of diversified experience in electronics and electric utility industry, with special emphasis on human resources development. Ashton has been involved in professional training and development in both electronics and electric utility services for more than twenty years. His experience includes training manager, GEC training department; senior lecturer, Gulf Polytechnic and Guyana Govt. Technical Institute; product supervision engineer, Smiths Industries; technical adviser and chief design engineer, Crossfield Electronics. He is currently involved in system analysis programs, programmable logic controller (PLC), personal computers, and human resources development and uses both Microsoft Windows and PowerPoints to write a wide range of simple modular training programs supported by CorelDRAW & MultiSim for graphic production.
