History is written AFTER it occurs not, as in the case of Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, John, and others who wrote of historical events, BEFORE they occurred. It verifies the past and shows us what to expect in the future. Other empirical observations are deductible by experiential evidences in various lives of men and women in the Bible. God spoke to them and it came to pass. God said to Abraham: "As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.”Gen 17:20 In the midst of the proclamation that Ishmael is not the promised child, you will think that God was a careless talker when He said; "I know what I have said and I know how to fulfil it. Ishmael may not be the promised child but yet I will bless him and make him a great nation" Ishmael became not just a nation but nations and the Islamic adherents! How did this happen? Because God had spoken. Read on and see how God confirms His words. In Genesis 17, Abraham was having a discussion with God. Don't you sometimes wish that you could talk to God and hear from Him directly, especially when you desperately need some answers? Don't you wonder how those people heard God so clearly in those days? Yes, God is still speaking, there is a chapter in this book that will help you hear God clearly. I pray for someone reading this book and desiring a change of name, change of status, change of circumstances for the better, will experience it. In the meantime, they both grow older, until at about 85 and still childless, Sarai impatiently tells Abraham to sleep with her Egyptian slave girl Hagar, and have a son through her. Abraham agreed and was intimate with Hagar.(Genesis 16:1-6) This is a really bad idea, and the main reason tensions and hostilities have existed between these two people groups, Jews and Arabs, ever since. Have you noticed that not trusting God, and taking matters into your own hands instead of continuing on "in faith" always leads to chaos? What was the consequence of their human calculation? Their decision brought chaos to their household. Human mistake brought family strife and jealousy and hatred. After Hagar became pregnant, she became proud and began to despise her mistress, Sarai. The Angel continues by saying that Ishmael will be "a wild one, and that he will be against everyone, and everyone will feel the same towards him, but that he will live near the rest of his relatives." Gen 21:9-13 Yes, Hagar and Ishmael were sent away into the desert, but that was not the end of the story. The truth remains Ishmael could not have fulfilled his life vision and mission in the house of Abraham! There are happenings in our lives that we think Satan motivated them, but when you look at the total picture you will know God is at work. If the brothers of Joseph had not 'kicked him out' he would have remained a father’s boy. As a father's boy his brothers would never bow down for him, why? Because they are his senior brothers! But God made them hate him so they could push him to fulfill his destiny. Sarah thought she was protecting Isaac by driving away Ishmael. Abraham cooperated with Sarah to drive away Ishmael. They both thought they have gotten rid of Ishmael. No, they set up Ishmael for success. They set up Ishmael to fulfill God’s purpose. In every storm there is a blessing. In every pit there is a way out. Someone even said PIT means Prime Minister In Training. In every prison there is an outlet. The outlet for Ishmael was the forceful ejection of Hagar, his mother, and himself. When the water was finished, Hagar was at the point of hopelessness, helplessness, discouragement and disappointment, and death seemed to be the only option, but God showed up. Your challenges are temporary! God showed up to take care of the immediate needs of Hagar and her future needs. That is the nature of our good God. Always on time. Do you know why? He is bound by His words. Christians are usually in a panic mode about their challenges and issues, even when they have clear words from God. "Not to worry" Matthew 6:25, Phil 4:6 "And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What ails thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink." Gen 21:18-19 She heard the voice. God sent an angel to rescue both the child and the mother with an eternal promise. God reiterated his promise for Ishmael "I will make him (Ishmael) a nation”! Has God made Ishmael a nation? Has he fulfilled his promise? Has he spoken? Has he brought it to pass? Absolutely!

Chapter four shows how God speaks so that you can distill his promises for yourself. Chapter five details why God speaks. Chapter six is concerned with how you can benefit, maximize, and apply the Word of God to your life. Chapter seven is to help you sing Hallelujah over the situations of your life, when you can see that with God, all things are possible. The purpose of this book is to encourage you to crave to hear the Word of God for your situation. Once God has spoken to your situation, consider it done. No matter how hopeless, helpless, disappointing, unexplainable, or discouraging the situation may be, whatever he has spoken shall come to pass.
