About the Author
Author Nancy Bush is a mother and grandmother with over forty years experience reading stories to children. Professionally, she has worked as a Title 1 reading instructor, community organizer, and advocate for children’s literacy. Her work is about connecting with others through the written word, especially teaching universal values to young children. These values are illustrated through the story Gary Is a Fish, which teaches teamwork, collaboration, tolerance toward others, and celebration of the beloved community. This is her first book. Author Ty Bush is an award-winning screenwriter, performance artist, designer, educator, entrepreneur, media scholar, and social activist. He holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Wabash College and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Communications & Creative Arts at Purdue University. Ty has studied performance and storytelling at The Second City Chicago, Acting Studio Chicago, The Actors Center New York, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and The Atlantic Theater Company Acting School. He is currently pursuing an MA in Communications and Creative Arts at Purdue University. His research areas include media criticism, media literacy, performance studies, film, theater, branding, leadership, stewardship, urban studies, labor studies, and arts education. Ty is also partner in the creative studio known as Cinderman. Ryan Smith is an illustrator, brand architect, and entrepreneur with sixteen years experience in the world of digital marketing and business. Having freelanced all of these years, both in house and out, he has been challenged to take on anything a company or client could toss at him to increase his ability to land new projects easily. Because of this, Ryan has acquired a vast array of skills and knowledge ranging from business development to programming and motion graphics. In addition, he is partner in the creative studio known as Cinderman. Gary Is a Fish marks Ryan’s first adventure in to the world of children’s education and literacy.
