About the Author

Identical twin sisters Maria and Monica Beaman began writing poetry at a very young age. Born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, both girls received their diploma at Strawberry Mansion High School. Both ladies then went on to attend Tuskegee University, where their writing creativity began to take off. Maria graduated class of 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science but found her poetry to be her true calling. Monica also studied for a Bachelor’s in Animal Science with a minor in Business Administration, but due to unplanned circumstances, she set her writing aside, moved back to her hometown with Maria, and pursued a life of motherhood with her now two-year-old son. Using downtime as a moment of opportunity, both women began writing what is now known as Love Reflections: Poems of the Heart. Although this isn’t their first book, it is the first to be published. With a new project already in the works, the ladies look forward to expanding their writing beyond just poetry. Their most recent project, Camil, is looking to be their next big move to look forward to in the future.
