The next day the family got ready to go shopping for Christmas gifts. They decided to separate. Mom and Dax paired up and Dad and Annie went together. Dax looked at Annie and said, “Make sure to buy a lot for me, Annie. I’ve been an awesome boy this year!” Brutus: Hellloooo lousy listener. Did you get snow stuck in your ear drums because I don’t think you can hear me? Remember, it’s not what you get but what you give that makes you awesome. But while you’re out, a bone would be awesome since mine seems to have grown legs and run away.

It’s the season for giving and thinking of others, but Dax can only concentrate on one thing—himself. As his mom wraps oodles of presents to give away to others less fortunate, Dax notices only one gift with his name on it. He quickly becomes concerned about how much he is receiving, while Brutus, his dog, becomes concerned about Dax’s greed. Despite Brutus’s helpful hints, Dax’s selfishness seems to escalate. It’s up to Brutus to guide his worried owner to understand one of life’s most difficult lessons so that Dax can truly enjoy this happy season.
