It is often said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with but one step. That one step for D. L. White began early in life when as a preschooler he discovered his older brother’s “hidden” box of comic books. Looking at the colorful pictures and imagining what the story line and content must have included, DL developed an early love and appreciation for books and discovery, which has grown over the years. Through books, D. L. White learned he could experience and gain in-depth insight into people, cultures, and unique events locally and around the world. An adjunct college professor, DL instructs courses in college success, career exploration, and overcoming self-defeating behaviors, thus being able to pass on his appreciation and love of books to others as well. DL believes that, through books, the young and the young at heart can experience and go places only imagined. Through reading, we are able to explore and gain valuable understanding of the world both near and far.
