The Be Attitudes

Be Merciful My name is Little Lue. I live in a quiet neighborhood where squirrels run up and down the tree branches, birds have lots of places to build their nests, and butterflies love to play. There are lots of nice people who live on my street. One of them, Mrs. Webster, was a kind lady who lived down the street. Her house looked like it was cut from a page of Lady and the Tramp. It was a tall but friendly house, encircled with gardens of pink and purple flowers; a place where butterflies liked to play. The color of the house was a mixture of blue and purple with white trim. The enormous front door had a giant gold handle. The windows were long and narrow with beautiful lace curtains that allowed me to see shadows at night, letting through just enough light to seem cozy and inviting. Each day when my friends and I walked home from school Mrs. Webster was sitting on the front porch in her swing or on colder days she would be in front of her big window in what looked like a most wonderful big chair. It had red and pink roses on it with green leaves. It looked oh so comfortable, like you could just curl up and take a nap.
