About the Book

This gripping story is about a humble family who was perceived as the richest in the village. As times went by an unfortunate situation took place, leaving the family in a vulnerable state. A village lady knowing of their plight decided to come in and control what was left. As the saying goes, “Good conquers evil”. Thanks to my Lord Jesus who gave me the strength. Pastor Joel Osteen, Pastor Carter Conlon, pastor David, pastor Carrol and also my Pastor from Calvary Christian Church. My mother, who have given me ideas, encouragement, praise and support. My past principal and present. My Teachers. They had all been an endless source of support and inspiration. In loving memory of my granddad who was a great storyteller, my grandma, my grand uncles and aunts. May they all rest in perfect peace.

About the Author

Emmanuel Burke is a young author who lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his mother. He is an honor student as his school, and he loves to read and write. He would like to be a pastor and an actor when he grows up.

"A second-grade person, Emmanuel Burke wrote a book! He started it, he stuck with it, and he finished it. Once I got past being quite stunned about this, I went on to read the book. Imagining what it might be like, I thought ? lots of pictures? a nice little story with about 3 sentences on each page?. About what one might expect from a book authored by a child, right? Wrong! Children, please forgive me. Woven around a handful of very nice illustrations unravels an interesting, imaginative, whirling, page-turner. Young Mr. Burke?s fantasy tale invites us into the life of the wonderful family of Ghunda and his beautiful twin sister Maiwa. We see love, togetherness, joy and happiness. However, moving through we also witness tragedy and deep sorrow. There are villains and heroes and present help in times of trouble as the children's not-so-perfect lives unfold. But finally through their love for one another, determination, some pretty smart thinking, and drawing on their help, Ghunda and Maiwa triumph and we see the awful villains get their just desserts. I am so very proud of Emmanuel and I will certainly keep my eyes open for what might come next from this budding young author."
