With a sweep of its wings and a great rush of wind the dragon drew up and presented itself before landing with tremendous impact and roared with laughter, “The guardian presents himself!” He lowered his head, “You should have stayed hidden amongst the sheep Wizard!” Nigel did not respond, but rather kept his focus while standing his ground astride Shadow, and the great red reared up and his voice rose as he spread his wings and bellowed, “BEHOLD! BEHOLD – WIZARD – THE HARBINGER OF YOUR DOOM! AND KNOW MY NAME! I AM RUBRUM INFERNUS!!!” Now Nigel did respond, shouting above the din, “Your name betrays your arrogance Dragon! And that arrogance will in time betray you!” The dragon, now insulted, roared with rage, and Nigel hoisted his staff, the light from which was now blinding, directed it towards the beast as it opened its maw, and with a tremendous explosion, all the power Nigel could muster erupted from his staff and met head-on with dragon-fire.

About the Book
While under attack, a young dragon is ordered by his mother to flee to safety. However, the attack was no chance encounter, and soon, those behind it turn their attention to the small foothill community to which he fled, and where the young dragon’s father serves as its guardian.
About the Author
Sebastian Halford grew up dreaming of dragons, and in spite of a career that included stints in the United States Navy, Border Patrol, and Homeland Security, he never stopped dreaming of dragons. He lives in Pennsylvania.
